Trent Seven Confronted NXT Cruiserweight Champion Jordan DevlinDevlin was boasting about being a dominant Cruiserweight champ when he was interrupted by Seven, who we haven't seen since he lost to A-Kid in the finals of the Heritage Cup Tournament two months ago. He was teasing a change and I guess dropping weight to chase the Cruiserweight title will be it. According to Wikipedia, he's 216 pounds, so it's definitely believable. He's already feuded/faced most of the NXT UK roster and thus I love the idea of a Devlin vs. Seven program. This was a strong segment.
Angel Garza def. Humberto CarrilloThe commentators mentioned the personal rivalry between these two, but is it really much of a rivalry if Garza wins almost every single time? I'm not saying Carrillo should have won here, but it's pretty predictable at this point. Garza really should be a regular on Raw by now. If nothing else, these two always work well together and this was no exception. They made the most of the time they had and produced an entertaining affair.
Eddie Kingston def. Lance ArcherI like how the commentators acknowledged that these two have been at odds since Archer won that Battle Royal back at All Out in September that Kingston was never eliminated from. Archer dominated a majority of the match (that chokeslam on the apron looked brutal and perhaps a bit too reckless), but Kingston stole the win following interference from The Butcher, The Blade and Allie. Archer shouldn't be losing often, but he was protected in defeat here and Kingston needed the win more coming off his loss to Pac. This was an enjoyable opener.
