By Brion Harris GRAND RAPIDS, MICH. – Just one night removed from CM Punk’s epic clash with Chris Jericho, the seemingly impossible happens: Punk and Heyman split. Though they mutually decided to go their separate ways, Paul Heyman was none too pleased with the decision to do so. After all, he was Punk’s biggest supporter since day one. Fast forward two hours after they split, Punk is going up against the new World Heavyweight Champion Alberto Del Rio. As Punk picks a quick victory via count out, he awaits his entrance music to play… Instead, Punk was shocked when he saw Brock Lesnar come down the ramp to his raging music. Just as Punk, the WWE Universe stood in confusion, wondering why The Anomaly decided to interrupt Punk’s victory celebration. As we watched in awe, we witnessed the unthinkable: Lesnar delivering a devastating F-5 to the Second City Saint. As the WWE Universe gazed on, questions started to erupt in our minds. Is Lesnar seeking retaliation against Punk for firing Heyman? Does Paul Heyman have anything do to with Lesnar’s merciless attack? The questions continue to pile up. Once seen as stable companions, now seen as rivals.

By CJ Blaze The show starts with a video package highlighting Bo Dallas’ big win from last week. Adrian Neville vs. Bray Wyatt This was the first time we have seen this singles match before. It wasn’t really anything special, and with the other Wyatt Family goons at ringside, it was obvious it was going to end dirty. Winner: Adrian Neville - by DQ -After the match, the three ganged up on Neville, and that lead to Ohno and Graves making the save. Dusty Rhodes came out and announced a six-man tag team main event for later. By Carson Koschik It's that time of year again, Money In The Bank! In what is arguably the most anticipated non-"Big 4" PPV event that WWE puts on, Superstars will compete in ladder matches to determine two possible future World Champions. While everyone has their predictions and hopes for who will win the coveted briefcase, WWE usually likes to throw us a swerve, making in that much harder to predict who'll win. While it may not be time to predict who will win, I'm going to at least try and predict who will be in participating at Money In The Bank, whether it's ladder matches or singles matches. Of course, I won't be predicting the WWE Championship match because, you know, it's already been announced. World Heavyweight Championship Money In The Bank Ladder Match Per usual, WWE will hold two different Money In The Bank matches, one for each World Championship. While both matches give a guaranteed World title shot, it's tradition that the World Heavyweight Championship ladder match will create a new star, while the WWE Championship one will give the briefcase to an established Superstar. Seeing as the World Heavyweight Ladder match will feature less-star power than the WWE Championship one, it was a little harder to predict who would be in it.
CM Punk confronts new World Champion Alberto Del Rio.
By Graham "GSM" Matthews CM Punk Interrupted Alberto Del Rio's Championship Celebration If there were any doubts that Del Rio is a heel after WWE Payback on Sunday night, they were put to rest in this segment. One of the reasons Del Rio grew stale as a heel in his previous run was because he had nothing substantial to work with. However, since he slowly won over the fans and turned his back on them, the turn was much more effective. His explanation of his actions was logical and planted the seeds for Dolph Ziggler's pending face turn as well. I enjoyed CM Punk bringing up his history with Del Rio from late 2011 as well as teasing tension with Paul Heyman. This was a great start to the show that help set up the main event match for later in the night. Christian def. Wade Barrett To say that I'm excited that Christian has finally returned to the ring would be a massive understatement. He's been missing from action since last August, so it's great to finally see him back. The crowd reacted accordingly and it was certainly a pleasant surprise. He and Barrett produced a nice match, but it definitely could have gone on a bit longer. Christian spoke of getting his "one more match" on the WWE app, so is it safe to say that a World Heavyweight Championship program might be in Captain Charisma's future? Team Rhodes Scholars def. Sheamus in a 2-on-1 Handicap Match The match itself was nothing out of the ordinary, but the finish took me by surprise. Not only did Sandow score the victory over Sheamus, but he did so in clean fashion, which certainly is a big boost in momentum for him. If they intend to continue this feud between the two, it's crucial that they continue to make Sandow look like an equal to Sheamus before being ultimately squashed by The Celtic Warrior. |
