By Graham "GSM" Matthews Tommy Dreamer Interrupted MVP I like Kurt Angle in the authority role he's currently cast in, but it's evident his heart isn't into it and he's just counting down the days until his TNA contract expires. MVP continues to shine on the mic and he's the perfect mouthpiece for Lashley. I figured Dreamer's time in TNA was done after Dixie Carter was put through a table, but apparently not. I'm fine with it since I'm a fan of Dreamer, but he doesn't add much to the product and he only enforces the ECW vibe that should be no more. TNA World Heavyweight Champion Lashley def. Tommy Dreamer in a New York City Street Fight (Non-title) The stipulation made the match more enjoyable, but when there's seemingly a hardcore match every week, how much does it really mean? Dreamer shines in these types of matches and while this wasn't his best showing, he carried Lashley to a decent enough bout. Lashley held his own and deserves some credit as well. It wasn't an all-out war, but it was as long as it needed to be and it gave Lashley a nice win that further established him as a beast.

By Graham "GSM" Matthews Rob Van Dam def. Seth Rollins by Count-out These two have faced off so many times in the last few months that it's hard to get excited about any of their matches, but Rollins and RVD never fail to entertain when they go one-on-one. They have very good in-ring chemistry together and that's what made this an enjoyable matchup. Again, it didn't stand out over their past encounters, but I really liked the finish was different this time. Instead of Rollins going over clean, RVD picked up a nice count-out victory that protected Rollins and put heat on him at the same time. Do I sense some originality from WWE Creative for once? Adam Rose def. Curtis Axel As big of a fan as I am of Ryback, I'm glad he's off TV for the time being as Rybaxel wasn't doing anything for this viewer. They were never a real threat to the WWE Tag Team Championship and never meshed from the start. Granted, Axel is boring whether he's in a tag team or on his own, but I still have hope that Ryback will return as a babyface eventually. Anyway, this match bored me to tears. Axel and Rose are both solid workers and they had a decent match, but the audience couldn't have cared less and neither guy can connect with a crowd it seems. By Graham "GSM" Matthews Hulk Hogan, Ric Flair and Shawn Michaels Debated About John Cena vs. Brock Lesnar at Night of Champions The panel brought star power, sure, but nothing they said felt worthwhile at all. If anything, it was a glorified Raw pre-show panel with each of the Legends taking a certain stance. Why not make it feel more organic? With that said, I like the approach of this panel in that it made the rematch between Cena vs. Lesnar feel that much more meaningful with the Legends talking about it. I'm glad Cena refrained from making jokes (for the most part), but his promo was nothing we haven't heard before. His appearance was total unnecessary and the fact he didn't sell the attack from Lesnar whatsoever, looking completely unaffected from the SummerSlam encounter, was simply inexcusable. Rusev def. Jack Swagger Once again, Rusev and Swagger had a very good match with the crowd largely behind Swagger, but the finish was anticlimactic and unoriginal. I'm not at all saying Swagger should have won, but if the end result was going to be the same as it was at SummerSlam, then what was the point? It made Rusev look strong and Swagger didn't tap out (again), but Rusev's attack on Swagger dragged on for far too long and Rusev's feud with Mark Henry was oddly not furthered at all. #AskGSM Edition #41: Brock Lesnar's Potential Opponents, Face of WWE, Favorite Divas/Knockouts, More8/25/2014 By Graham "GSM" Matthews #AskGSM is a weekly Q&A video where I, Graham "GSM" Matthews, answer fan questions from Facebook, Twitter and YouTube in regards to the world of wrestling.
