I consider myself an old school wrestling-fanatic, old school being from Raw’s first episode, when ECW was still run by Paul Hayman and was the most real wrestling on television. Back to the headline, I’m a hater and I’m proud, CM Punk and The Shield are the hottest thing in the WWE right now.
The saddest part about it is Vince still believes in having these super hyped face verses face matches at big pay-per-views that draw big money and sells a lot of tickets but end up being boring matches. The Rock vs. Cena at last years WrestleMania was, in my opinion, average at best. We knew that Rock was going to win, we knew that the People's Elbow and the Rock Bottom were going to be used. Cena was going to hit his AA and the Five Knuckle Shuffle. I’m really tired of seeing these disappointing matches, The Rock had his time. Vince, bring him back as a mouth piece, fine, do it, it’s must-see television. He doesn’t need to be champion. He really is the “most electrifying” person to see.
The moment a “heel” comes along and gets some good run as a champion or television time, he has to lose it to a great face. Punk losing the title to Rock, okay, fine, but it should have ended the way Vince was going to with Punk getting striped. The story-line would have played out better. Ahh, but now I’m getting side tracked. As you can tell, yes, I am a Punk fan, and as an old head I want to proclaim that this face champion and running of the company. I have done some reading on other sites about a possible face turn for Brock Lesnar, that would be horrible. Let’s get some good, old fashion bad guys to get together and run some shit. When was the last time we had a good, dominating, bad guy stable? Think about it, Punk, Lesnar, and the Shield, they could do some damage and it would be interesting. Punk regains his championship, retires The Rock, Lesnar battles Cena and makes a run for the Heavyweight Championship, Shield takes some tag gold and the United States title.
It’s been a long time since one group in wrestling has held a lot of gold and I think maybe it would bring some of the new fans back to some of the old days. Shield is very young and up and coming and have been pretty awesome, although I think it’s only fair to revisit the notion of the stable since they destroyed the Nexus way before it could even get going, I guess it has to do with the whole PG rating now. Maybe, sooner or later Vince will get around to getting people to read some of his fans ideas and thoughts and take some of our ideas into consideration.
Well, wrestling fans I will make the first one short. Please feel free to comment and question or give me some ideas of what to write next. All is welcome. Much respect.
