IWGP Heavyweight Tag Team Champions War Machine def. Cheeseburger and Will Ferrara (Non-title)
I realize the commentators acknowledged how they have teased tension as of late, but how the hell are Cheeseburger and Ferrara still teaming? They have been on the verge of breaking up for months and I clearly recall Ferrara beating up Cheeseburger after one of their losses not long ago. At any rate, War Machine dominated a majority of this match and picked up the easy win, though the crowd popped big for Cheeseburger kicking out of War Machine's double powerbomb toward the end. War Machine calling out The Young Bucks afterward indicates that will be the next feud for the ROH World Tag Team Championship.
Los Ingobernables de Japon def. ROH World Six-Man Tag Team Champions Bully Ray & The Briscoes and Dalton Castle
This match must have been taped at the beginning of this taping because the crowd was extremely hot for it. That and/or how everyone involved in this matchup is entertaining to watch and thus they worked well together. Los Ingobernables utilized every heel tactic in the book and that's how they ultimately picked up the victory. There was nothing at stake here, but this was just a ton of fun.
Hangman Page def. Adam Cole
Although I'm not sure this match earned the "This is awesome" chants it received from the crowd early on, it was definitely worthy of being deemed awesome once it was over. Cole was beloved by the audience as he prepares to exit the company and Page was finally given the opportunity to showcase his skills. The action was excellent throughout, they kept the pace consistent and the final few minutes were fantastic. Most importantly, Page winning clean was the right outcome with Cole leaving Ring of Honor as noted. That's how you cement a star. Frankie Kazarian coming to Cole's aid afterward furthered his feud with Page as well, so this was successful all around.
Ring of Honor crowds are usually energetic, but this crowd was especially lively and it enhanced my enjoyment of the episode on the whole. In addition to the superb main event, the eight-man tag team match (albeit random) was a blast while the opener marked the return of War Machine and the beginning of their quest for the ROH tag titles. Throw in some backstage pre-taped promos over the course of the hour and this was a top-notch show.
