At the beginning of 2015 John Cena was put into a feud with the Bulgarian brute Rusev. Once the feud had ended, some would not know where Rusev would end up, unfortunately he broke his ankle heading into the Elimination Chamber where he would be challenging for the Intercontinental Championship. Once he returned Rusev has somehow became one of the company's best promos, has developed depth and in slowly gaining compelling pieces around his character, he's grown significantly. Two weeks ago on Monday Night Raw with Cena, we saw a performer who is excelling with where he is at, and is ready for more.
Since being “demoted” to the mid-card John Cena has managed to make every match he participates in feel like the Main Event, Cena sells and takes all of the signature offence from his US Championship Open Challenge opponents. For example Sami Zayn has a DDT that he executes where he jumps through the space between the ring post and the second and third ropes, of course Cena takes it and it makes Zayn that much more of a superstar. It's the little things that separate “great wrestlers” from “most valuable wrestlers”. By doing all of the little things right, Cena's a “most valuable wrestler."
For many wrestling fans, the ability to Wrestle minimally involves being able to do a standing switch from a headlock to an armbar. Instead it's all about doing impressive moves. The springboard stunner was first, and for many fans was not necessarily enough, Cena went back to the drawing board and pulled out Amazing Red's flipping “Code Red” powerbomb, remember Cena is a 250 pound man.
John Cena has made the WWE Universe care about new wrestlers like they have not in some time. Cesaro's been around for a bit, he won the inaugural Andre The Giant Battle Royal, was in the 2014 Elimination Chamber for the WWE World Heavyweight Championship, has Paul Heyman's co-sign, is now being viewed as being on the level of the legendary Hart family in the ring and he picked up The Great Khali upside down one time and gave him a Neutralizer. But, until he started wrestling John Cena on a regular basis we did not truly care.
Many would say that Cena “BURIED” Kevin Owens however, some are forgetting that Owens pinned Cena CLEAN in his debut match back at Elimination Chamber, also Kevin Owens is the only WWE superstar to kick out of the super AA. It seems now that Owens is being put into a feud with Cesaro possibly for a match at SummerSlam, I do see Kevin Owens winning this feud between the two over performers as I believe Owens needs this victory more than Cesaro
In 2015 John Cena has done the following:
