WWE Tag Team Champion Goldust def. Jack Swagger
Both Goldust and Swagger are great workers, but their match wasn't much of a barn-burner. It was well wrestled and kept a consistent pace, but they never left first gear and immediately jumped to the finish at the end. Swagger dominated most of the contest before coming up short, so he looked good in defeat. It was also nice to see the match given a substantial amount of time despite it not being all that exciting.
Natalya and The Bella Twins def. Divas Champion AJ Lee, Tamina Snuka and Aksana
I was surprised by how good this match ended up being. Granted, it wasn't the best Divas match of the year, but everyone played their part well and there weren't as many botches as one would expect. I hate to see Tamina take yet another pin-fall, but it made sense since she was the one who knocked out Nikki's tooth on a recent episode of Raw. At least AJ wasn't pinned for the millionth time in tag team action, either.
Fandango def. Kofi Kingston
I have grown beyond tired of seeing thes two wrestle each other at this point, but there is no denying that they are capable of having great matches together. This match made up for their disappointing minute match from last week's SmackDown and gave Fandango more momentum going into his Intercontinental Championship match against Big E Langston on next week's Raw, which was heavily hyped by the commentators throughout the contest. Kingston doesn't have much meaning at the moment, so the loss didn't harm him and the clean victory for Fandango was a nice change of pace.
This show didn't air on ION this week due to it being preempted by Christmas movies and instead aired on WWE.com, but for those who didn't tune in, you didn't miss much. All three matches were well-wrestled and made for a solid show as a whole, but there wasn't a lot (if any) storyline progression at all. You were probably better off spending time with family than going out of your way to see this episode of Main Event.
