Heath Slater def. Zack Ryder
Ryder vs. Slater has been done to death in the past, but as noted in my Superstars review, Ryder looked extra motivated this week for whatever reason. He and Slater have always worked well together, but this bout was more enjoyable than most of their past matches because of the nice pace and limited interference from The Social Outcasts. Speaking of whom, it's gotten to the point where I am infinitely more interested in a match on these shows if they are involved. It's a vast improvement over what they were doing before on their own, which was nothing. I was hoping Ryder would score his third win of the week here, but no such luck. Darn those Social Outcasts!
Natalya def. Alicia Fox
I've been really digging the character development in the Divas Championship picture and the Team B.A.D. implosion angle as of late, but all the other women have been left out in the cold. Fox has been a babyface by default given her association with Brie Bella, but she came off heelish here, so I (along with the audience) wasn't sure what to think. Meanwhile, Natalya just feels criminally wasted. The two of them didn't gel that well at all and it made for a mediocre match at best.
Mark Henry and Darren Young def. Fandango and Damien Sandow
Correct me if I'm wrong, but didn't Young and Sandow partner up on the Royal Rumble Kickoff show? And Fandango and Sandow didn't tease any tension when they teamed on Superstars this week, so why here? What a mess this match was. Don't get me wrong, it was fun while it lasted and the crowd was hot for Sandow, but those two things confused me greatly. WWE basically took four guys who are rarely on TV and threw them into one match together, but it's worth watching for Sandow alone.
If you're a Sandow fan like I am, I would skip ahead to the main event and check his appearance out, but otherwise, this episode isn't worth your time. Ryder vs. Slater was a nice little match, but the women's match was all over the place and the tag match was just strange. That said, it was a decent show on the whole, but it left me with mixed feelings.
