Ryback def. Kofi Kingston
It was nice to hear the commentators reference the fact that it was Ryback who put Kingston on the shelf a few months back. I was hoping that would lead to a feud between the two upon Kingston's return to the ring, and while it didn't ultimately come to fruition, I don't see why they can't rekindle the rivalry now. This was a fun match that the live crowd was into and it made for a good opener. Ryback's feud with CM Punk appears to be over, so why give him something to do in the form of a feud with Kingston? I would love to see more matches from these two down the line.
Santino Marella def. Heath Slater
Did we not just have to suffer through this garbage last week on Raw? I am not sure what purpose this was supposed to serve, as this was essentially a house show match that only the kids will find entertaining. Don't get me wrong, Marella can be funny at times, but his overexposed antics have grown tiresome with this viewer and I didn't find anything about this bout to be comical. If nothing else, it was a relatively painless match that didn't overstay its welcome.
Fandango def. The Great Khali
I have honestly lost track of how many matches these two have had these past few months. Thankfully, it wasn't as bad of a match as one would expect, but it was nothing out of the ordinary. I was surprised to see Fandango pick up the pin-fall victory, if only because his recent matches with Khali have had non-finishes. It was a nice win for Fandango, but I still don't see him getting pushed anytime soon.
Los Matadores def. Los Locales
When Los Matadores aren't facing 3MB, they are facing Los Locales. It looks like The Real Americans are out of the question since they are apparently in the tag team title hunt. That being said, I don't know if I can withstand more matches between the same two/three teams going forward. Their matches are bad at all, but the action is never any different and the ending outcome is never in doubt. What a waste of Tyson Kidd's talent, though. He has so much untapped potential, but he is being relegated to wearing a mask and jobbing out to a comedic tag team. I find that to be absolutely ridiculous.
In essence, this was a one match show with Kingston vs. Ryback, and not even that match was all that great. It was well wrestled and enjoyable while it lasted, but nothing worth going out of your way to see. The subsequent matches weren't terrible, but they were basic filler bouts that were beyond meaningless. Right it when it looked like WWE Main Event was back on track to being a must-see show, we are given this garbage instead. It is almost Halloween after all, so maybe this was WWE's way of playing a trick on its viewers, because I certainly didn't see this show as being a treat.
