Ryback def. Dolph Ziggler
It's sad to think that Ryback and Ziggler were two of the biggest focal points of last night's post-WrestleMania episode of Raw, and one year year later, they find themselves fighting on the Superstars taping. That being said, this had to be the best Superstars match I've seen in quite some time. Remember, this show was filmed in front of the red hot New Orleans crowd from Monday's Raw and they were heavily behind Ziggler in this match. The hilarious for Curtis Axel at ringside were hilarious. Only time you'll ever hear that! Anyway, the match was very well wrestled and they worked a great, fun pace. It's odd that Ziggler has been losing lately given the roll he was on prior to 'Mania, but I guess it all depends whether he's on the good or bad side of management each week.
Titus O'Neil def. Kofi Kingston
After the awesome opener between Ryback and Kingston, this match managed to fall flat. While O'Neil has great charisma, he is still a work in progress in the ring. Not even Kingston, an excellent worker, could lead him to a good match here. It was clunky at times and they never seemed to find a rhythm before the bout prematurely ended. It was a big win for O'Neil, sure, but how much does it really mean when any momentum O'Neil may have had has been destroyed since his split from Darren Young?
The electric atmosphere in New Orleans made this edition of Superstars more enjoyable than usual, or at least for the first match. Ziggler vs. Ryback was entertaining and you should check it out when you get the chance, but the same can't be said for Kingston vs. O'Neil. Regardless, even the Raw recaps were fine to sit through since all of them were great reminders of how awesome Raw was on Monday night. So, if you have an hour to kill and want to watch some wrestling, this week's Superstars might be just what the doctor ordered.
