Must see athleticism, surprising agility, full investment into his role, and larger than life and every sense of the word. These are the attributes to describe WWE Monday Night Raw’s hottest superstar, the monster among men Braun Stroman.
This past Sunday at WWE’s Payback pay-per-view Braun Stroman delivered again. The story of the match was that Roman Reigns will give it his all despite being plagued by ribs and shoulder injuries. For those that may not be aware Braun Stroman put Reigns out of action for a few weeks after a brutal beatdown that included Stroman tipping over an ambulance with Roman Reigns in the inside. This is pro wrestling after all and we do know Roman Reigns is simply selling these injuries to an audience. The predetermined sport is about spectacle and performance.
However, Braun Stroman’s assaults have become a spectacle because he is not your average super heavyweight. He is a thinker that comes up with original ways to add to the portrayal of violence that we see on WWE television. No matter how aware the masses are of it being a work, the monster makes it all believable which helps suspend any disbelief that are in the minds of viewers. It helps that the man is a legit 6’8 and 385 pounds. Even if you are not a fan of the genre that is sports entertainment that is size that catches your eye if you are channel surfing.
Where does Braun Stroman go from here? Judging by the end of the pay per view he likely has unfinished business with the former Shield member. When you get down to the meat and potatoes of the situation at this point Braun Stroman is poised for a solid Universal championship run. The story writes itself. The current champion is Brock Lesnar. The former UFC champion can’t be believably beaten by just anyone on the roster. Thankfully Braun Stroman is not just anybody. Strowman has beaten veteran Big Show, the World’s Strongest Man Mark Henry, and now WWE’s next golden boy Roman Reigns. Anything less than a Universal championship run would be beneath Braun Stroman.
