Awesome Kong def. Skyler Moore
The Nightmare Collective is still in its preliminary phase as Kong continues to make short work of her unknown opponents. Other than at Double or Nothing (and even that was a four-way), I don't think we've seen Kong in a competitive match in AEW yet. It's fine that she's squashing ladies for now, but she'll have to move past that eventually. The post-match stuff was weird with The Nightmare Collective threatening to harm Moore more but backing down. I'm still not into their act, but maybe it'll grow on me over time.
SCU def. Kip Sabian and The Hybrid2
This was the first match all of SCU has competed in as a unit since Christopher Daniels returned from his injury in November. Considering Frankie Kazarian and Scorpio Sky are the current AEW World Tag Team Champions, there was no way they were losing here, but it was an enjoyable main event while it lasted. There was nothing out of the ordinary about it, mind you, but everyone delivered and the final few minutes were fun.
Although Austin and Billy Gunn vs. Shawn Spears and Preston Vance was originally advertised for this episode, it was apparently pulled, reportedly because of legal issues with WWE, which is a shame. The two matches we were left with were solid but definitely nothing worth going out of your way to see. The episode was shorter than usual as a result of the tag match being pulled and the hype for Wednesday's Dynamite was fine, so at least there was that.
