By Graham "GSM" Matthews Stephanie McMahon Interrupted Sting I don't know what it was, but Sting's promo seemed much more motivated and passionate than anything I've seen from him in a long, long time. Perhaps it was on par with his work in TNA and it's just been so long that I simply forgot, but I loved the line he dropped about not wanting to avenge to WCW but rather take down Triple H. Stephanie played her "emasculating" role well, and I'm glad Sting actually took it to her and didn't back down (then again, would he have really done that?). The tease for physicality between Sting and Triple H was great and I find myself more excited for their match at WrestleMania than anything else on the card. Dean Ambrose and R-Truth def. Luke Harper and Stardust The match was decent for what it was and picked up down the stretch. Other than that, there wasn't anything overly special about the match (sorry, I'm just geared to not care about anything involving R-Truth). Bad News Barrett was fine on commentary, but maybe the most notable part of the segment was Booker T reading off the betting odds for each of the Ladder match's competitors. Any chance those were legitimate? By the way, how ridiculous it when Truth and Ambrose danced afterward? It was a funny visual and all, but it's every man for themselves on Sunday and they should have established that here, especially after Ambrose called Daniel Bryan a "turd" just recently.

#AskGSM Edition #71: WWE WrestleMania 31 Preview, Overrated Main Events, Bold Predictions, More3/23/2015 By Graham "GSM" Matthews #AskGSM is a weekly Q&A video where I, Graham "GSM" Matthews, answer fan questions from Facebook, Twitter and YouTube in regards to the world of wrestling. Nothing is off limits, and this week’s edition touches upon a variety of topics including:
By Graham "GSM" Matthews and John Napolitano As the Road to WrestleMania winds down and we rapidly approach the exceptionally promising card that is WrestleMania XXXI, Graham and I sought no better opportunity to categorize the past 30 WrestleMania main event matches. We have been delighted to witness some of the most awe-inspiring main events over the last three decades, and it is only natural to ponder what has been the best of the best. What has been the most entertaining WrestleMania main event match of all-time? In terms of match hype, crowd involvement, match quality, and overall impact, there have been some classic five star bouts, but we have ranked the cream of the crop. Along with the best of the best, there have been some substandard spars. Yes, there are dozens of high-profile matches missing from this list, as we have ranked the show closers and only the show closers. Although this was a daunting endeavor, Graham and I are confident in our rankings. But what do you think? Did we miss something? Was there a match that you think was unfairly placed? Or were we too generous to a bout or two? Utilize your first amendment right. Speak your mind. Tell us your favorite WrestleMania matchup. But most importantly, enjoy our list of the most entertaining WrestleMania main events of all-time. -JN By Graham "GSM" Matthews World Tag Team Champions The Wolves def. The Revolution and The BroMans in a Triple Threat Ultimate X Match Aside from the fact that The BroMans didn't do anything to deserve the title shot and the nothing justified this being an Ultimate X match, it was an enjoyable bout. All six guys meshed well, and while The BroMans shtick usually annoys the hell of me, they played the serious card and showed their athleticism instead of their unfunny antics. Manik and Sanada were the best two members to represent The Revolution in this match and The Wolves continue to be the duo to watch in the tag team divison. Austin Aries def. Samoa Joe by Disqualification Aries and Joe have always had great chemistry together and this match properly showcased that. If there was anyone for Joe to face in his final TNA match, it was Aries and they had a pretty match in the time they were allotted. It's simply a shame it wasn't known beforehand that Joe was leaving as it would have been nice to see him get the final farewell he deserved, but this mathc with Aries was a solid consolation prize. |
