By Graham "GSM" Matthews Son of Havoc, Ivelisse and Angelico def. Fenix, Drago and AeroStar in a Trios Championship Tournament Match Just an absolutely insane match match from start to finish, and I mean that in the nicest way possible. I haven't seen a six-man tag team match this good since The Shield split up. Is this what I should expect from all six-tags going forward? Aside from the incredible action, I was a bit skeptical going in as Son of Havok was super hot coming off his "breakup" with Ivelisse, so for them to team back up didn't make much sense. However, that ultimately played into the story they were telling with Ivelisse abandoning him during the match yet Havok winning anyway. Also, I really like the idea of six-person tag team title as it's something different from all the other promotions out there right now. Sexy Star def. Super Fly in a Mask vs. Mask Match Adding a stipulation to the match went along well with Cuerto's character, but as the commentators stated, it's a huge stipulation that should have at least been advertised in advance. They worked a fine match and you could definitely feel that something was at stake, but it wasn't allowed to live up to its full potential because of the small window of time they were allotted. Super Fly isn't a major character so it wasn't a big deal, but why not just put a title shot up for grabs? I wonder if Fly's unmasking will spell the end of him in Lucha Underground or if he'll compete unmasked going forward. Lucha Underground Champion Prince Puma def. King Cuerno
Puma is the perfect in the role of an underdog and that's essentially what he was here against Cuerno. They worked a solid, well-wrestled match, but it never felt like the championship was on the line because of everything that was going on at ringside. I'm normally not about matches that are more focused on the outside interference than the in-ring action, but it worked in this case given who was involved. All six guys have history with each other in one way or another (maybe aside from Texano) and served as a nice teaser for next week's six-man tag team match between the two teams. Overall Show All three matches were enjoyable, but the opener was especially exceptional. While that match flourished from an in-ring standpoint, the subsequent two matches told solid stories and built toward what's to come in the next few weeks. Star vs. Fly wasn't everything it could have been yet still good, while the main event championship match was more entertaining than it was a marquee match despite the title being on the line. As always, give the show a watch and I guarantee you the hour will fly by.
