WOH World Champion Kelly Klein def. Karissa Rivera
We've seen Rivera in action on ROH TV before, but she didn't have the greatest showing here. I was happy she and Klein were given a decent amount of time, but Klein dominating a majority of the match was probably for the best. Afterward, The Allure's Angelina Love and Velvet Sky (no word on where Mandy Leon was) confronted Klein, Rivera and Sumie Sakai, plating the seeds for a possible six-woman tag team matchup. The Allure haven't been any good in the ring so far, so I don't have high hopes for it.
ROH World Six-Man Tag Team Champions Villain Enterprises def. Shinobi Shadow Squad
Shinobi Shadow Squad, despite racking up a few victories here and there over the last year, have never been positioned as serious threats, so I can't say I ever thought during the course of this contest that the titles were in jeopardy of changing hands. In fact, this felt more like a showcase for Villain Enterprises than a truly competitive championship clash. If nothing else, the crowd was super into Villain Enterprises (specifically PCO) and it was fun while it lasted.
This was the first show in weeks to feature fresh matches I haven't seen anywhere else (HonorClub, Ring of Honor's YouTube channel, etc). Both bouts were taped before Manhattan Mayhem over a month ago and the rest of the episode consisted of highlights from other shows (including State of the Art in early June, which was weird). Therefore, it was a bit more notable than it has been in recent weeks with two championships being defended, even if the outcomes were predictable. I don't think the main event being well wrestled is enough of a reason to check out this edition of ROH TV, unless you haven't seen Manhattan Mayhem or Mass Hysteria yet.
