Silas Young and Josh "The Goods" Woods def. Coast to Coast, Soldiers of Savagery and The Bouncers in a Four Corner Survival Tag Team Match
It feels like Ring of Honor's tag team division hasn't had a ton of buzz since The Young Bucks left, but this served as a nice showcase of the tandems that are still there. Soldiers of Savagery had momentum at one point and it feels like forever since I've seen them, but they performed well here. The Bouncers have history with Young, so I liked how that was acknowledged by the commentators. They kept the pace consistent throughout and had an enjoyable affair. The commentators pointed out how Young and Woods have been undefeated since joining forces, which may earn them a shot at the ROH World Tag Team Championship after Final Battle.
PJ Black def. Eli Isom, Kenny King and Ultimo Guerrero in a Four Corner Survival Match
This match was taped at The Experience. I'm not sure what the rationale was behind these four fighting each other, but I guess the randomness was the theme of the event. This was a fun four-way with all four guys getting their time to shine and the action was entertaining. I fully expected King to win because he's the biggest star of the bunch, so Black picking up the victory was a bit of a surprise. It's not like it mattered much since nothing was on the line.
The first Four Corner Survival match was taped for TV, so at least that was fresh content. I didn't watch The Experience, so the second Four Corner Survival matchup was also new to me, but it didn't seem to serve much of a purpose. Highlights were shown of The Allure vs. Sumie Sakai and Jenny Rose from Unauthorized, too. Unfortunately, the only build we got for Final Battle on this episode was at the very end with graphics being shown for what's advertised so far. That's it. Considering it's supposed to be ROH's biggest pay-per-view of the year, that's pretty pathetic. Hell, the NWA has done a better job of making their Into the Fire event that same weekend feel more special. They have one episode left to promote the pay-per-view, but I don't have much faith they'll do anything to sell viewers on the show outside of how it looks on paper.
