Madison Rayne def. Brooke to Earn 3 Points in the World Title Series
It's amazing how far both of these women have come in the ring since their respective debuts and their improvement showed in this match. It was a fun women's match while it lasted and makes me miss stories outside the World Title Series. These two could have a good program together with storyline support as they can more than hold their own in the ring. Rayne was due for a win, so it wasn't shocking to see her pick up the victory here.
Bram def. Rockstar Spud to Earn 3 Points in the World Title Series
I don't think we've seen these two do battle before (unless I'm forgetting something), so as down as I have been on the World Title Series, it has given us a few fresh matchups with this being one of them. It didn't blow me away or anything like that, but it was decent. I would have liked to see Spud get in more offense than he did because I feel he has much more to offer than just being a fighting enhancement level underdog, as seen in his series of matches with Ethan Carter III earlier this year.
Manik def. Mandrews to Earn 3 Points in the World Title Series
Once again, we were back to seeing Manik donning the mask even thought he rid himself of it prior to Bound for Glory. I'm well-aware it was due to these matches being taped prior to that point, but it still comes off as lazy. Nevertheless, this was a fine X-Division match, but I might have cared more about it if viewers were given a reason to. Manik has been somewhat established as part of The Revolution, but what the hell do we know about Mandrews other than he won British Bootcamp? He was doing a weird surfer gimmick the last match we saw him in, so at least he cut that crap out for this match.
TNA World Tag Team Champion Davey Richards vs. TNA World Tag Team Champion Eddie Edwards Ended in a Draw; Both Wrestlers Earned 1 Point in the World Title Series
It's rare we get to see The Wolves against each other in singles competition, but when we do, it's always a treat. This was another excellent matchup between the two with the obvious story told that they have respect for each other. The draw finish could be seen coming from a mile away given that they're equals, but I thought it was well done. It will be interesting to see how they fare on their own if and when that day comes, but at this point, there's still money to be made with them as a team.
Mahabali Shera def. Kenny King to Earn 3 Points in the World Title Series
It seems as if it doesn't matter who Shera is facing; he's just no good in the ring. That's not to say he can't get better over time, but at this stage, he shouldn't even be on TV. King attempted to get the best match he could out of him, but to no avail. Oddly enough, I didn't have an issue with Shera winning if only because King left for Ring of Honor months ago and Shera is still there.
Eric Young def. Bobby Roode to Earn 3 Points in the World Title Series
It's been many months since these two last faced off, yet I'm still tired of their matches. Don't get me wrong, they have always worked well together and this was another superb match from them, but if you've seen one of their matches, you've seen them all. If nothing else, they did a solid job of building it up throughout the night and reflecting on their past over the last year, making this match mean more as a result.
In another week of the World Title Series, this edition of Impact Wrestling was more tolerable than most. Granted, none of the matches particularly stood out as special, but I enjoyed the main event and The Wolves' match was a ton of fun. Everything else held up nicely, so the show on the whole wasn't half-bad. I'd suggest tuning in until later in the tournament, but this week's set of matches was passable.
