Ariya Daivari def. Gran Metalik, Mike Kanellis and Akira Tozawa in a Fatal 4-Way Match
Watching this match made it all the more apparent that, like Raw and SmackDown Live, 205 Live is in desperate need of a shake-up at the moment. With Cedric Alexander and Buddy Murphy moving on to the main roster, the Cruiserweight division will need some new faces, and sadly, three of these these four men have been here since the beginning. This was a fun four-way and all, but it screamed "same old, same old." I would assume that Daivari is being set up to challenge for the WWE Cruiserweight Championship soon based off his victory here.
Oney Lorcan def. Cedric Alexander
This match was made on last week's show, but once it was announced that Alexander had been drafted to Raw, the outcome was never in doubt. Regardless, it made perfect sense for Lorcan to go over so he could get his win back over Alexander from a month or so ago. This was a very well-wrestled main event with a great pace and awesome energy from both men. Alexander went all out for his swan song on 205 Live and Lorcan delivered per usual, picking up a big victory over a former Cruiserweight champ.
The opener was enjoyable to an extent, and although I'm sure it was designed to unofficially crown a new number one contender to the title, it didn't do much for me and I honestly found it tough to pay attention at times. Lorcan vs. Alexander, on the other hand, is well worth checking out. Not only is the match itself excellent, the post-match show of respect for Alexander from the crowd as prepares for his move to Raw was really cool. This show will definitely not be the same without him, but hopefully this will be an opportunity for 205 Live to replenish the pot.
