Kushida def. Danny Burch
Kushida is a fresh face to have on 205 Live, but I feel it hurts him more than it helps the Cruiserweight division. Sure, it gives him additional exposure (as he isn't on NXT nearly enough), but I'm not a big fan of him being relegated to 205 Live because of the stigma that comes along with it. Lio Rush has made the most of it, so maybe it isn't entirely terrible, but I still believe he could be doing way more right now. On the bright side, this was a well-wrestled match with the right result.
Gentleman Jack Gallagher def. Tyler Breeze
Now that Gallagher has completely reinvented himself, can WWE please drop the dumb "Gentleman" part from the beginning of his name? It's so unnecessary. At any rate, this was an enjoyable affair with both guys having good performances. I don't mind Breeze being on 205 Live as much as I do Kushida simply because it's clear Breeze will never get beyond a certain level in this company, whereas there's still hope for Kushida. I'm probably in the minority here, but I don't mind Gallagher's new look and I liked that he was more aggressive than usual here.
Part of me finds it somewhat amusing that 205 Live has actually been better and easier to watch than it was a month or so ago. Obviously, Ariya Daivari and The Singh Brothers not being featured at all has been a major factor in that. I appreciated that both bouts this week had never been done before and were entertaining. Granted, neither of them had any storyline significance for the most part, but that's been the case with 205 Live for a while and so I'll just take what I can get nowadays.
