Humberto Carrillo vs. Lince Dorado Ended in a Double Count-Out
It was nice to see Carrillo showcased via the vignettes that have aired in recent weeks focusing on his background and motivations, which gave fans a reason to care about him. Meanwhile, Dorado is the perfect person to put him in the ring with because he's a great wrestler and can easily absorb a loss. Although this was fun while it lasted, it unfortunately ended in a double count-out. That felt like a botch the same way the ending to Chad Gable vs. Gentleman Jack Gallagher (the first time) did. I'm sure they'll face off in a rematch to settle their score, though. Ariya Daivari attempting to play mind games with Dorado backstage afterward was interesting.

There were rumors that Daniel Bryan would be revealed as Drew Gulak's SummerSlam opponent (which would explain why WWE waited so long to crown a new number one contender), but obviously, that was not the case. I really wish this happened a few weeks ago just to give Gulak vs. Lorcan more time to be built up, but honestly, the match sells itself on paper from an in-ring standpoint. Similar to every other multi-man match we've seen on 205 Live over the last year, this was an awesome six-way where the pace never slowed down and the action was always exciting. Lorcan vs. Gulak should be tremendous if given the time to shine (and there's no reason for it not to be if it ends up on the SummerSlam Kickoff show).
You can't wrong with an edition of 205 Live where both of the bouts that are featured are excellent. Carrillo vs. Dorado kicked things off on a high note and I'm looking forward to their eventual rematch as well as what might be going on with Dorado. The main event was every bit as entertaining as expected and saw the right man go over, so on the whole, this was a very enjoyable hour of wrestling with solid hype for 205 Live's sole match at SummerSlam.
