Cedric Alexander def. Ariya Daivari
Alexander is an exceptional athlete and a ton of fun to watch in the ring, but even he couldn't bring Daivari to an above-par match. It was certainly well-wrestled, but Daivari has been established as an enhancement talent by this point and I often find it difficult to care about anything he's involved in. If nothing else, this allowed Alexander to continue building momentum ahead of next week's No. 1 Contender's match.
Kalisto def. Gentleman Jack Gallagher
I give them credit for trying to tell a story with Gallagher targeting Kalisto's knee throughout, but let's face it: people don't watch 205 Live to see the same stuff we already see on Raw and SmackDown Live. The crowd couldn't have cared less about this and sat on their hands the entire time. There was simply zero sympathy shown for Kalisto being beat down by the heels. Gran Metalik resurfaced afterward to make the save for Kalisto, so it looks like we'll be getting a tag team match with them pretty soon.
Tony Nese def. WWE Cruiserweight Champion Enzo Amore by Disqualification (Non-title)
Obviously, this was less of a match and more of an angle because they never actually made contact before Daivari turned on Nese and aided in Enzo in his assault on him. The Zo Train hasn't even been around for a whole month, and they're already teasing tension between the members? I thought that was strange, but I guess the whole purpose of this was to put heat on Drew Gulak. That said, it wasn't all that effective if the "This is boring" chants from the crowd were any indication. The attack felt like it dragged on forever.
The recent Fatal 4-Way matches on Raw featuring the Cruiserweights have been entertaining, but the issue with them is that they've made 205 Live more missable than it already was. This was a completely dull episode with a decent albeit forgettable opener, a flat Kalisto vs. Gallagher match, and a beyond boring closing angle. Alexander vs. Gulak could be worthwhile on next week's Raw, but the build on 205 Live has been dreadful. On the bright side, Hideo Itami is arriving next Tuesday night, so I'm looking forward to that.
