Akira Tozawa def. SAmir Singh
Tozawa saved The Brian Kendrick from an attack at the hands of The Singh Brothers, so this was a logical next step in the story. Unfortunately, the Singhs continue to do nothing for me in singles action. They're bland and boring, and despite a good effort from Tozawa here, the bout was decent at best. Tozawa and Kendrick also got the upper hand afterward, so a tag team match seems to be imminent.
Mike Kanellis def. Jackson James
A Kanellis victory is hard to come by nowadays, so this was a necessary win for him, even if it was against a local athlete. Of course, the focus was less on the match and more on his verbal exchange with Drave Maverick afterward. They've been at odds for months now and I was interested to see where it would lead. This was the best mic work I've seen from either guy since they came to WWE and I liked the brawl they had. I wouldn't mind them going one-on-one if Maverick is allowed to showcase his skills the same way he did in IMPACT years ago.
Chad Gable def. Gentleman Jack Gallagher
I was anxiously awaiting a rematch between these two after their last match a few weeks ago ended in a count-out. This ended up being not only as exceptional as the original encounter but better. The action was exciting, they held nothing back, and they got the crowd on their feet by the second half. Their chemistry is just tremendous. Both men had strong showings and I really hope Gable can land a permanent gig on 205 Live.
I didn't have high hopes for this show considering it started with a singles match involving one of The Singh Brothers, but even that at least served a purpose. The rest of the episode was excellent with Kanellis calling out Maverick and those two having a hell of a verbal exchange while Gable and Gallagher delivered in the main event. Throw in the video package on Humberto Carrillo and I'd certainly say it was a very entertaining edition of 205 Live on the whole.
