Chad Gable def. Gentleman Jack Gallagher by Count-out
Finally! A lot of people have been petitioning for Gable to join the 205 Live roster for a while now, so I'm happy it's happened at long last. The guy is great and has been wasted on the main roster for years, so he might as well go to the Cruiserweight division where at least he'll have a chance of finding success on his own. He appears to be in fantastic shape and looked really motivated here. He and Gallagher produced a really fun match before the count-out finish, which came across as botched to me. Even if it was, let's hope a rematch is in their future.
The Singh Brothers def. Los Locales
Los Locales were, as their name suggests, two local athletes. The Singh Brothers apparently claimed that they were the greatest luchadores in the all of the Sacramento area, an obvious a shot at The Lucha House Party. Speaking of whom, Singh Brothers will get their rematch with Lucha House Party next week. This was a pretty standard squash that saw the Singhs pick up a much-needed victory.
Akira Tozawa vs. Drew Gulak vs. Oney Lorcana vs. Humberto Carrillo in a WWE Cruiserweight Championship Fatal 4-Way Match Ended in a Draw
Multi-man matches are all the rage on 205 Live these days, but hey, at least they always deliver. It was going to be tough for these four athletes to have anything less than a terrific match, and ultimately, that's exactly what this was. It had a super energetic pace and everyone had strong showings. It was especially cool to see the crowd come alive toward the end. Ariya Daivari emerged to cost Lorcan the victory after Lorcan beat him recently, so they'll likely be feuding going forward. Gulak and Tozawa pinned each other simultaneously, so although there was no official decision, I'm just going to call it a draw. Look for Tozawa and Gulak to battle next week to determine who the number one contender truly is.
I think it goes without saying that this was the best WWE show of the week so far by a country mile. Raw and SmackDown Live sucked, so I appreciated being left satisfied for once. Hell, even the crowd was hot for that main event in the second half, not to mention how the actual in-ring action and storyline development on this episode were top-notch. Seek out that main event as well as Gable vs. Gallagher. The Singhs' squash was whatever but served a purpose. Meanwhile, I'm interested to see what happens with Mike and Maria Kanellis considering their contracts are coming up due in the next week or so.
