Drew Gulak def. Lince Dorado
Gulak has had his problems with the Lucha House Party as of late and has seemingly been on a mission to tap all of them out one-on-one. Well, he finally accomplished that feat by beating Dorado here in what was another good match from them. It had a nice, consistent pace and Dorado scored his fair share of offense before eating defeat. That was refreshing to see since he was positioned as an enhancement talent on this show for so long before recently.
TJP vs. Local Athlete Went to a No Contest
TJP continues to complain about being underutilized on 205 Live and campaign for a roster spot on Raw, SmackDown Live or NXT. Hell, he didn't even want to face the local athlete he was slated to compete against this week! TJP plays the a-hole role perfectly and has finally found his footing as a heel. This has been going on for a while now, so here's hoping there is an endgame in sight and he doesn't keep spinning his wheels forever because Creative doesn't know where they're going with this.
Hideo Itami def. Mustafa Ali and Buddy Murphy in a Triple Threat Match
Ali and Murphy have been putting in phenomenal performances week in and week out, so throwing Itami into the mix was smart because all three guys can have great matches together. This was very well worked and each of them had their time to shine. As has been the case as of late on 205 Live, the crowd was into it early on, but they came alive down the stretch once the pace picked up a bit. Itami emerging victorious should set up him as the next No. 1 contender to the WWE Cruiserweight Championship.
Once again, the above-average main event was the central focus of the night and you should go out of your way to watch it. The rest of the show was solid with a big six-man tag team elimination match being built toward for next week and TJP furthering his own storyline. Also next week, Lio Rush will finally be debuting on 205 Live, so I'm looking forward to that as well as everything else the brand has in store for the coming weeks.
