Isiah "Swerve" Scott def. Tony Nese
These two have had their fair share of matches lately against each other over the last month or two, but they continue to work wonderfully together and this had to have been their best bout to date. They were given a ton of time (the entire show, in fact) and made the most of it by constantly keeping things interesting and putting forth an excellent effort. It helped that they had bad blood coming into this bout, so with Scott winning decisively, it feels like their rivalry has been put to rest once and for all. This was an awesome encounter that served as a reminder of how fun Cruiserweight wrestling can be.
205 Live wasn't much shorter or longer this week than it has been lately, except for how this edition featured one lengthy match as opposed to two shorter ones. I'd definitely be down for the show taking a similar approach in the future. Another notable change was Drew Gulak sitting in commentary, which was fitting given his history with the Cruiserweight division. He did terrific. This was easily the strongest episode 205 Live has put out in a while with a refreshing streamlined format. Even better, Santos Escobar will finally be making his first appearance on the program next week.
