Noam Dar def. Gran Metalik
These two previously faced off on Main Event the week prior and had a good match, and this was a bit better of a bout. As much as I want to see Metalik pushed prominently (he's one of the best in the world), I appreciated seeing him on 205 Live at all. He has been absent from the program since debuting months ago. Also, here's hoping Dar's push sticks this time, though I couldn't care less about his pairing with Alicia Fox.
Mustafa Ali vs. Tony Nese Went to a No Contest
We've seen Ali vs. Nese a handful of times in the past, so I groaned when I realized that was the match that would be happening. Thankfully, it never came to fruition because Ali was viciously attacked beforehand by Drew Gulak. This "No Fly Zone" gimmick from Gulak has been decent so far, but he desperately needed that added aggressive edge. I don't know i he will get any more heat coming out of this, but it was a step in the right direction.
Austin Aries def. TJP
Similar to Ali and Nese, Aries and TJP have worked against each other enough in the last month that they have strong chemistry together by this point, and this was another enjoyable affair from them. Perkins continues to thrive as a heel and Aries is now one step closer to capturing the WWE Cruiserweight Championship. I really hope his upcoming rematch with Neville at Extreme Rules receives a stipulation soon.
Despite the lack of buzz surrounding 205 Live at the moment, the shows themselves are solid more often than not. The crowds are largely lifeless, but the in-ring action is entertaining on the whole and this was another average episode with a pretty good main event, a strong attack from Gulak and a fine opener. Akira Tozawa vs. The Brian Kendrick in a Street Fight next week should be fun.
