Humberto Carrillo and Gentleman Jack Gallagher def. The Singh Brothers
The Singh Brothers were originally supposed to take on The Lucha House Party in a rematch from a few weeks ago, but Lucha House Party were pulled after being attacked by Lars Sullivan on back-to-back nights at Money in the Bank and on Raw. Thus, they faced off with Carrillo and Gallagher instead, who have had a bit of a friendly competition with each other in recent weeks. They worked well together as partners and this was a nice match, but the crowd clearly could not have cared less.
Akira Tozawa def. Ariya Daivari, The Brian Kendrick, Oney Lorcan and Mike Kanellis in a Fatal 5-Way Match
I feel like we just had a Fatal 5-Way on 205 Live not too long ago. They've been done to death by this point, but if nothing else, they always end up being entertaining. This was action-packed and the final few minutes were especially fun. Although this wasn't officially announced as a No. 1 Contender's match, you have to assume Tozawa will be next in line to challenge for the WWE Cruiserweight Championship based off how he pinned the previous number one contender and how Tony Nese was seen watching backstage.
I was happy the Cruiserweights made the main card for a change at Money in the Bank, even if the match wasn't anything special. This edition of 205 Live offered some followup from the show with Carrillo and Gallagher successfully teaming up to replace the injured Lucha House Party and Tozawa likely earning another opportunity at the title via his win in the Fatal 5-Way. I maintain that the division could use some more fresh faces, and with there being so many in NXT right now who aren't doing anything at the moment, I see no reason why they shouldn't be brought up to 205 Live.
