10/17/2018 0 Comments WWE 205 Live Review - October 17, 2018Akira Tozawa vs. Drew Gulak Ended in a No ContestTozawa and Gulak have clashed countless times over the past year and a half, so while this was nothing new, it was still a quality contest that effectively furthered Tozawa's feud with Gulak and Gentleman Jack Gallagher. In addition to the non-finish protecting Gulak in defeat, The Brian Kendrick made the save for Tozawa afterward and apparently they will be positioned as foes-turned-friends as they rival Gulak and Gallagher. Tony Nese def. Cedric Alexander, Lio Rush, Gran Metalik and TJP in a Fatal 5-Way MatchWe saw a lot of Fatal 4-Ways and Fatal 5-Ways early on in 205 Live's existence, and although they got old after a while, they were always a blast. Thus, this was a breath of fresh air since we haven't gotten anything like this in many months and everything about it was excellent. All five wrestlers had their time to shine, the pace never once slowed down, the action was exhilarating, and they told a few stories as well. TJP furthered his feud with the Lucha House Party by interacting with Metalik, Rush looked damn impressive in defeat, and Nese got one over on Alexander for the second straight week. Will we getting Buddy Murphy vs. Nese for the WWE Cruiserweight Championship soon? Overall ShowStop sleeping on 205 Live, you hear me? It took time to get used to the new format and the stories being told following the reboot, but 205 Live is finally must-see television in my opinion. Similar to NXT, the show is so refreshing compared to what we tend to get on Raw and SmackDown each week, and the matches almost always deliver. This week was no exception as the opener was well-wrestled and the multi-man main event was just tremendous. We also learned Mike Kanellis will be making his in-ring debut on 205 Live next week against Lince Dorado.
