Kalisto def. Ariya Daivari
I found it hysterical that after Kalisto received such a flat reaction on Raw this week (partly because no one knew he had new entrance music), he was given his old music back here. That's pretty pathetic. He's pre-match promo was decent, but he was easily overshadowed by Enzo Amore on the mic. The match that followed didn't help matters because Daivari was on offense for a majority of it and Kalisto won out of nowhere, so he didn't exactly come across like a star in his 205 Live debut.
Mustafa Ali def. Drew Gulak
Ali and Gulak had their fair share of matches over the summer and all of them were enjoyable, so while this was another quality contest from them from an in-ring standpoint, it didn't seem to serve a purpose. Sure, Akira Tozawa attempted to distract Gulak from the stage the entire match by chanting "Ah!", but that got old quick. Plus, Ali has been directionless for months, so why not have Gulak pick up the victory here?
Gentleman Jack Gallagher def. Cedric Alexander by Disqualification
In my opinion, it's the little things that matter most, and thus I really appreciated how Alexander came down to the ring looking angry and wasted no time in taking the fight to Gallagher once the bell rang. They didn't produce an instant classic here or anything (I assume they held back because they'll be having more matches down the line), but it was fun while it lasted and the energy and intensity they showed was good. Alexander came off more like a bad guy than Gallagher in attacking him with his own umbrella, but at least he scored a measure of revenge for a change.
Kalisto is apparently supposed to be the savior of the Cruiserweight division, but he has made a very small impact in his two appearances so far and he isn't off to a strong start. Meanwhile, Ali vs. Gulak was well-wrestled albeit pointless and the main event was merely the beginning of a longer story with Alexander, Gallagher and The Brian Kendrick. All that said, this was a completely missable show, though Neville was conspicuous by his absence and I hope that means he's leaving the division soon.
