Gran Metalik def. Tony Nese
While this wasn't on the level of Kalisto vs. Buddy Murphy from last week's show, it came close and ended up being a real treat of a match. Metalik is one of the most underrated wrestlers in the entire company and he proved that here, while Nese was able to showcase his skills for once (even though he has zero charisma as a character). They were given plenty of time to have the matchup they were capable of and Metalik picking up the win before he faces Murphy next week was the right call.
Noam Dar def. Bryan Kelly
After wrapping up his rivalry with TJP a few weeks ago, Dar seems to be moving on to a program with Lio Rush. I'm in full favor of that feud because it further helps establish Rush as a star on the rise and the matches should be solid, too. Rush did well on commentary during this quick showcase for Dar, who hit his signature spots and emerged victorious over the local athlete in decisive fashion.
WWE Cruiserweight Champion Cedric Alexander def. TJP (Non-title)
Alexander originally called out Drew Gulak after what happened during their last interaction, yet was confronted by TJP instead. That led to an impromptu match between the two and it was very entertaining. They've had quality encounters in the past and they once again brought the best out of each other here. Alexander continues to overcome the odds but can only do so for so long, leading me to think that he might be dropping the title sooner rather than later. Perhaps that title change will come against Murphy at WWE Super Show-Down in Australia next month?
As I always say, 205 Live is one of the most consistent hours of wrestling you'll watch all week and the latest edition was another example of that. The Rush vs. Dar feud officially kicked off, Metalik and Nese ripped it up in the opener, and Alexander and TJP contested an above-average main event. As previously noted, Metalik vs. Murphy was confirmed for next week's show as well. 205 Live deserves more energetic crowds because these shows would be much better received in front of a livelier audience.
