WWE Main Event Review - April 10, 2018

Mark Andrews def. Tony Nese

I believe this marked Andrews' debut on Main Event, and there was no better night for him to compete on the show than in front of the post-WrestleMania Raw crowd. Unfortunately, the audience wasn't any louder for this bout than a typical crowd the Cruiserweights compete in front of for Main Event. Nevertheless, this was a nice little match between Andrews and Nese. It was weird because Nese was seemingly an ally of Andrews on 205 Live this week yet they were opponents here, but other than that, this was a solid opener.

Kalisto, Lince Dorado and Gran Metalik def. TJP, Gentleman Jack Gallagher and Ariya Daivari

The Lucha House Party has been on quite the roll lately, and although the outcome of this outing was obvious, it was fun while it lasted. They were given a bit more time than usual and they made the most of it by producing an action-packed matchup. All six stars shined at one point or another, but this was largely a showcase for the trio of luchadors as they continue to pick up victories.

Overall Show

While this was basically a second hour of 205 Live, I thoroughly enjoyed it. It was cool for the Cruiserweights to receive more time than they normally do during a week where they were overshadowed by everything else on the post-WrestleMania editions of Raw and SmackDown Live. Speaking of which, the recaps that were replayed on this episode included Raw's main event, Roman Reigns' promo, Ronda Rousey breaking Stephanie McMahon's arm again, and Paige being named the new general manager of SmackDown, so all in all, this edition of 205 Live was slightly above average.
