Lince Dorado and Gran Metalik def. Drew Gulak and The Brian Kendrick
Tag team matches involving the Cruiserweights were a staple on Main Event for a while months ago, almost to the point where it was predictable and boring. Thus, enough time has passed that this felt fresh and the work from the four guys was very good. I almost forgot Dorado was still on the roster considering he has been absent from WWE programming for some time, but I was pleasantly surprised to see him pick up the victory for his team here. On a side note, more of Metalik on 205 Live would be appreciated.
Emma def. Mickie James
We've seen James and Emma do battle before on Main Event, so while this wasn't anything too new, they work well together and this was a solid match from them. Granted, neither of them have been given a ton of creative direction lately and therefore the crowd had no reason to care, but I enjoyed this for what it was. Unfortunately, the finish fell flat because James hitting her head on the turnbuckle and Emma immediately rolling her up came out of nowhere.
The Cruiserweights were back to being showcased in tag team competition this week and it was great to see all four competitors get some shine. Meanwhile, James vs. Emma was a nice match with an abrupt ending. Raw has been better than usual as of late, but this week's installment wasn't the best, so the Raw recaps on this edition of Main Event aren't worth watching. The two featured Main Event matches are decent, though.
