Dana Brooke def. Sarah Logan
No, you aren't watching a rerun of Main Event from the past few months; Brooke and Logan did indeed face off for what felt like the millionth time. Worse yet, it was the exact same match we've seen from them before. I appreciated their effort to make it feel like their rivalry is personal and that they legitimately hate each other, but not only are these matches rarely ever anything other than passable, they have zero meaning because we all know these two aren't escaping Main Event any time soon. Brooke can continue to beat Logan and it won't amount to anything because WWE clearly has no desire to feature her regularly on Raw (and rightfully so because she isn't that great).
Robert Roode and Eric Young def. The Lucha House Party
Team Canada is back! Well, sort of. Either way, it was cool that Byron Saxton brought up their history together without outright acknowledging their time in TNA. As for Lucha House Party, it's worth noting that both Kalisto and Gran Metalik tweeted about being free agents in about 10 months, so they're making it clear that they don't intend to stick around once their contracts expire. It's not much of a punishment for them to be competing on Main Event, though, since that's where they've been for the past eight months or so. They were given a decent amount of time here and had a fun little match with the right team going over.
At this point, WWE is recycling the same Superstars (and even some of the same matches) on Main Event. It's usually Brooke versus either Logan or Lacey Evans and then Lucha House Party versus any combination of Cesaro, EC3, Roode and Young. In other words, the show is a total waste of time, unless you wish to catch up on Raw and SmackDown Live without sitting through the full episodes.
