Darren Young def. Jinder Mahal
We've seen this match multiple times in the past, and sadly, their in-ring chemistry never improves. While I couldn't care less about Mahal, I do like Young, so it's a shame WWE didn't bother continuing on with his push beyond his brief chase for the Intercontinental Championship over the summer. The crowd sat on their hands for this and it's hard to blame them. It was especially weird that Young, despite taking so much abuse to the knee throughout this bout, ended up using his Gut Check finisher for the win, which utilizes the knees.
Bo Dallas def. Sin Cara
This was another match that has been done to death before, but truth be told, this might have been the best bout they have contested yet. Granted, there were a few sloppy spots here and there, but on the whole, it was a surprisingly strong effort from both men. I guess Cara's days in the Cruiserweight division are already over considering he hasn't been featured on 205 Live at all or on Raw in a while.
The review of the show is up later than usually because Hulu Plus is now airing Main Event on Fridays (instead of Wednesdays), in place of the now-cancelled WWE Superstars. There really is no rush to watch the program now that it will feature Raw undercard competitors going forward and not SmackDown Live's talent. Although Dallas vs. Cara exceeded my expectations, it isn't must-see by any means, and Young vs. Mahal is a total bore, so skip this show if you know what's best for you.
