Heavy Machinery def. The AscensionIt stuns me to say that Heavy Machinery have arguably been handled the best out of all of the recent NXT call-ups. Then again, that isn't saying much because their appearances on Raw and SmackDown Live have been infrequent. On the bright side, they've made the most of every opportunity they've been given up to this point and have managed to win over some fans with their wacky antics. They're a treat to watch in the ring and this was a fun showcase for them. Tyler Breeze and The B-Team def. Jinder Mahal and The Singh BrothersSometimes I forget The B-Team are still employed, let alone that they were Raw Tag Team Champions less than six months ago. Meanwhile, Breeze deserves way better, and I don't think reuniting him with Fandango when is cleared to compete again is the answer (All Elite Wrestling, anyone?). At any rate, this was a perfectly fine six-man tag team match that didn't overstay its welcome and actually featured an enjoyable closing stretch. I was somewhat surprised by the outcome, if only because Mahal was WWE Champion a little over one year ago and now he can't even beat Breeze and The B-Team. What a fall from grace (hey, I'm not complaining). Overall ShowRaw wasn't terribly exciting on the whole on Monday night, so I was happy Main Event spotlighted the biggest moments from the show and skipped over the rest. Plus, I liked reliving Charlotte Flair's promo as well as the Gauntlet match from SmackDown Live. Heavy Machinery vs. The Ascension was exactly what it needed to be and the six-man tag team matchup was honestly a bit better than expected, so I'd chalk this up to be a slightly above-average episode by Main Event standards.
