Shelton Benjamin def. No Way Jose
I assume Benjamin will remain a regular on Main Event for the rest of his career, aside from the occasional Raw appearance where he'll put over someone like Aleister Black. However, at least he's still putting in quality performances like he did here. This wasn't a barn burner by any means, but the effort was there and it was a nice little match with the right result. Benjamin winning with something other than Paydirt (an armbar, I believe?) was a pleasant surprise as well.
24/7 Champion Riddick Moss def. Cedric Alexander
I bring this up all the time, but it's crazy to think Cedric Alexander was challenging AJ Styles for the United States Championship at Clash of Champions and on Raw five months ago, and here he was challenging Riddick Moss for the 24/7 Championship on Main Event. At any rate, it isn't often the 24/7 Championship is defended in a traditional match (much less on Main Event), so at least this had that going for it. I liked how Byron Saxton mentioned on commentary that Moss beat Alexander on Main Event not too long ago, so Alexander was looking to avenge that loss here. This was much better but largely because of Alexander. Moss is still a work in progress, but Alexander managed to get the crowd to care by the end....yet he remains a jobber on Main Event. It's a sad state of affairs for Alexander right now.
The highlights from the latest Raw and SmackDown shows are nothing special and can be easily skipped over. Neither of the featured matches are really worth going out of your way to see either, but they were solid if nothing else. It's not every day that the 24/7 Championship is defended on Main Event, but I doubt fans will be tuning into the program in droves to see who won between Alexander and Moss. In all honestly, this is probably where the title belongs.
