Mojo Rawley def. Curt Hawkins
This earned an extra star from me right out of the gate because Rawley didn't face No Way Jose for the umpteenth time. In all seriousness, it was a nice little match. Hawkins showed good intensity, but Rawley worked the same style he always does and I have no clue why he continues to rack up wins when WWE has shown zero desire to push him. Similar to Sarah Logan, he'll get a rare Raw appearance, but they'll never end up doing anything meaningful with him.
Natalya def. Chelsea Green
I'm sure Green was ecstatic to find out she'd be facing fellow Canadian Natalya, and I don't say that sarcastically, either. This was the third match she's had on the main roster in the last month and it was easily the best of the bunch. They had quality chemistry and produced a fun match in the time they were allotted (which felt like slightly more than usual). Green in particular was impressive and I'm looking forward to seeing her develop in NXT (now that we know that's officially where she'll be).
On the whole, I thought this was a slightly better show than we've come to expect from Main Event lately. Rawley vs. Hawkins wasn't anything special, but at least it was different than Rawley vs. Jose. Meanwhile, Natalya vs. Green was one of the best bouts I've seen on this show in some time. The only issue is that the SmackDown and Raw replays were completely forgettable because they were the weakest segments and matches from each episode in the last week. Other than that, this was a solid edition of Main Event. It may be mediocre to most, but as someone who regularly watches the program, it was a treat to not feel like I totally wasted my time for once.
