The Authors of Pain def. Titus Worldwide
After appearing on Raw for two straight weeks, Authors of Pain were relegated back to Main Event duty this week. Here's hoping this won't be permanent and they were instead left off of Monday's Raw because of how heavily focused it was on Extreme Rules. At any rate, this was a perfectly fine tag team match, which was basically a glorified squash in favor of Authors of Pain. There was nothing terribly exciting about it, but at least Authors of Pain won decisively as they should have.
Chad Gable def. Curt Hawkins
I hate to sound like a broken record, but it's criminal how underrated Gable is and how he should be getting more opportunities to shine on Raw. He's a tremendous talent and I was happy he was able to showcase some of his skills here. That said, Hawkins held his own as well and this was a fun little match while it lasted. Hawkins is coming closer and closer to snapping his losing streak, so it isn't far-fetched to say that he may finally win one sooner rather than later.
We have seen Authors of Pain steamroll through Titus Worldwide before, both on Raw and on Main Event, so their match was nothing new. I actually enjoyed Gable vs. Hawkins for as long as it lasted and thought it was a perfect example of what this show should be used for. As for the Raw and SmackDown Live recaps, feel free to skip through them, if only because the build to Extreme Rules on Sunday has left a lot to be desired.
