United States Champion Sheamus Interrupted 'Miz TV'
Miz has been great in his Hollywood role since his return and this was another nice promo by him. The tie-in to the recent LeBron James controversy was fitting given that Miz is from Ohio and hopefully he'll be allowed to say something similar next week on Raw in Miami. He and Sheamus had a good verbal exchange that set up their match later in the evening nicely. However, it was strange that Miz wasn't clamoring for their contest to be a title match given that he beat the champ the night prior.
Emma def. Cameron
Emma's been absent from WWE TV since her shoplifting controversy several weeks back, so it was nice to see her back (without any changes made to her character). With Santino Marella seemingly retired, hopefully she can branch out on her own. The match was passable at best thanks to Emma, but it was all about furthering the feud between Naomi and Cameron. You'd think they'd have Cameron win to make her look credible going into her match with Naomi, but I have no complaints about an Emma win. By the way, why doesn't Cameron use her single as her new entrance theme? It'd garner her instant heat.
Kofi Kingston and Big E def. Rybaxel
The match served a purpose in building toward the Intercontinental Championship Battle Royal at Battleground, but none of the combatants in this bout had an issue with each other, so the match didn't pack much of a punch. The action itself was decent, but the fans didn't have any incentive to care. Kingston and Big E seem like a random pairing and I guess are only teaming coming off their feud with Cesaro, but it'll be interesting to see whether the tandem lives on past this point.
United States Champion Sheamus def. The Miz (Non-title)
Much like on Raw, Miz and Sheamus worked a solid match. The two have always had good chemistry together in the ring and this contest was no exception. It was nothing too special, but they put forth a good effort. I liked the finish with Miz being too concerned with his face and Sheamus capitalizing to pick up the victory, but why give Sheamus his win back so soon? I'd still like to see them over the United States title going into SummerSlam, but I didn't understand why this match had to happen to begin with.
There was nothing featured on the show that I'd consider must-see, but it did a solid job of building up the Battleground crowd, specifically for the Kickoff match and Intercontinental Championship Battle Royal. The opening segment was enjoyable, but outside of that, don't feel the need to go out of your way to watch this episode of Main Event since you wouldn't be missing much.
