Enzo Amore and Big Cass def. The Ascension
Enzo and Cass never cease to crack me up on the microphone, and it's a true testament to their talent when they can get an entertaining match out of The Ascension. It wasn't amazing by any means, but it was significantly better than your typical Ascension match because the crowd is always engaged in Enzo and Cass' offense. They continue to win over the masses in a major way and I still stay a potential clash between them and The New Day over the WWE Tag Team Championship at SummerSlam in Brooklyn would be money.
Baron Corbin def. Sin Cara
As a standard squash match, this was fine with Sin Cara doing a decent job of selling Corbin's power moves. But I can't blame the crowd for sitting on their hands for a majority of the match because they had zero incentive to get behind Sin Cara. He's been a punching bag for so long that it's hard to buy into the possibility of him winning anything meaningful. Hey, at least he didn't have any noticeable botches in this match!
United States Champion Rusev def. Zack Ryder (Non-title)
I don't know how wise it was to put two enhancement matches back-to-back, but this was much more bearable than the previous bout. Ryder has been known to score an upset here and there before, and although I didn't think he would pull out the victory against Rusev, he and Rusev produced a better bout than I thought they would. Rusev's awesome athleticism was on full display and Ryder looked good in defeat. On a side note, I'm not a fan of the new Accolade. It doesn't look nearly as devastating as the original.
While I didn't care much for Corbin vs. Cara, it was a servicable squash and a dominant victory for Corbin. The other two matches were even more enjoyable, making this a pretty solid show on the whole. I wouldn't recommend going out of your way to see any of the matches, but it was a nice change of pace from the usual cast and crew that appear on the program.
