Liv Morgan def. Natalya
This was a rematch from the WrestleMania 36 Night 1 Kickoff show where Morgan beat Natalya. Morgan hasn't wrestled since losing to Charlotte Flair on Raw back in late April and has been featured in several vignettes over the past month. However, none of them have made any sense. She was making good progress before that loss to Flair, so at least she was able to bounce back with a win here. I could have done without the part where Morgan was mimicking Natalya, but this was a quality contest otherwise.
Shelton Benjamin def. Shane Thorne
It's been cool to see Thorne get more opportunities to shine in singles competition. He's obviously very experienced in the tag team ranks, but his tag team with Brendan Vink is far inferior to TM-61, and with Nick Miller gone, I'd rather see Thorne fly solo. He's been impressive against Ricochet recently on Main Event and he had another solid showing here against Benjamin. I was pleasantly surprised by how much offense Thorne got in before Benjamin went over in the end.
Natalya and Morgan have clashed before, but it has by no means been done to death, so I didn't mind them clashing again here (especially with Morgan being absent from Raw recently). They once again worked well together, as did Thorne and Benjamin. On the whole, this was another perfectly acceptable edition of Main Event that wasn't nearly as much of a waste of time as the episodes from six months ago, where it was clear zero effort was put into the program.
