Goldust def. Curt Hawkins
Another episode of Main Event, another Goldust vs. Hawkins match. Seriously, is there no one else on the Raw roster for either one of these guys to face? They try their best to make their short matches as entertaining as possible, but we've pretty much seen it all by this point. This was filler at its finest that ended the same way every outing involving Hawkins does: with him looking up at the lights.
Akira Tozawa and Hideo Itami def. Gentleman Jack Gallagher and TJP
Tozawa and Itami already had two weeks under their belt between last week's 205 Live and this week's episode, so this marks their third in a row. It's obvious officials are having them build momentum so they will be considered top candidates to win the rumored Cruiserweight tag team titles when they introduced after WrestleMania. Gallagher and TJP were great opponents for them because although this wasn't given a ton of time, it was enjoyable while it lasted.
There isn't much I can say about Goldust vs. Hawkins anymore because it truly was a waste of time considering we've seen it on a number of occasions in recent months. The Cruiserweight tag team match, on the other hand, was a treat. It could have gone on much longer than it did, but for what it was, I liked it. All that said, the two matches and the recaps from Raw and SmackDown Live don't make this Main Event show worth seeking out.
