Dana Brooke def. Alicia Fox
I'm no fan of Fox, but it makes little sense from a storyline standpoint that Natalya made Raw's women's Survivor Series team over her considering Alexa Bliss is the team captain and it has been established that Bliss and Fox are friends. However, you won't see me complaining that she isn't a part of the squad because it's better off without her (at least in my opinion). As for this outing, it was perfectly fine and not nearly as bad as it could have been, yet it was far from good and just sort of existed before awkwardly ending.
Apollo Crews and Tyler Breeze def. Zack Ryder and Curt Hawkins
It's been many years since Hawkins and Ryder teamed up (I believe 2011 was the last time if I'm not mistaken), so it was a cool trip down memory lane and they clearly haven't missed a beat. I was looking forward to this purely based off the talent involved alone, but it didn't end up being anything special due to wrapping up before it could really get going. I was slightly surprised Ryder took the pinfall loss and not Hawkins considering Hawkins is the one with the lengthy losing streak. Perhaps Hawkins' curse rubbed off on Ryder?
There was a ton of hype for Survivor Series on this show between the SmackDown Live and Raw recaps and the various video packages. I'm not any more excited for the pay-per-view than I was before, but the effort was there. Brooke vs. Fox is hardly worth going out of your way to see, and while it was fun to see Hawkins and Ryder reunite after so long, the tag team match was decent at best. Thus, this edition of Main Event was slightly below average.
