Naomi def. Paige
The only thing worse than random six-woman tag team matches are the heel vs. heel matches that make an equal amount of sense. I'm confused as to whether Paige is supposed be a heel or a babyface, but then again, I guess I could say the same about Naomi and the rest of Team B.A.D. On the bright side, these two have always worked well together and this was no exception. It was a nicely wrestled match and I enjoyed it for the most part, but it was the little things (such as both "heels" playing to the crowd at various points) that bothered me. Paige lost momentum when she tapped out clean to Natalya on Raw and this loss didn't do her any favors, either.
Intercontinental Champion Kevin Owens def. Jimmy Uso (Non-title)
I had flashbacks to when Main Event still meant something during the opening segment as the confrontation between Owens and Uso led to a match between them later in the night. It was an effective use of time, more so than a pointless Jack Swagger vs. Bo Dallas match would have been. Obviously, the ending outcome was never in doubt, but it was a fun bout while it lasted. The Usos have never excited me too much as singles competitors, so I'm hoping Jey Uso isn't too far off from being 100 percent and ready to return.
With only two matches on this show, the hour flew by quicker than usual this week. The opening segment with Owens and Uso was well done and helped their match feel more significant from a storyline standpoint as a result. Plus, Owens is always a riot, so more of him is never a bad thing. The women's match was also a treat (despite it being contested between two heels), so it wouldn't kill you to check out Main Event this week if you have the time.
