Alexander Rusev and Sylvester Lefort def. Enzo Amore and Colin Cassidy
Considering the rivalry between these two teams from over the last few months, I was surprised to see this match cut short. By the way, whatever happened to Scott Dawson? Not that I care, though, as I would much rather see Lefort in the ring than Dawson. Anyway, this was a disappointing bout with an abrupt finish designed to make Rusev look strong. Amore and Cassidy are one of the most entertaining acts in all of NXT right now, so why they continue to be overlooked and underutilized is mind boggling to me. A woman managing Rusev is intriguing, but will she be the mouthpiece that Rusev need?
Aiden English def. Jason Jordan
This was a basic squash match to showcase the tremendous talents of English, but it didn't accomplish much more than that. The live crowd are still very much into his character, so it appears they couldn't care less he continues to take on enhancement talent. As enjoyable as English is in the ring and on the mic, he will need to be inserted into a real program soon in order to prevent his gimmick from getting stale.
NXT Women's Champion Paige def. Summer Rae (Non-title)
These two have faced off countless times in the past, so this match was more of the same. It was decent by Divas standards and fine for what it was, but the never-ending feud between Summer and Paige is growing tiresome. Thankfully, this appears to be leading up to a match between Paige and Emma for the title, so I look forward to seeing that soon and the teasing of the tension between them will only build anticipation.
CJ Parker def. Tyler Breeze
Backstage officials have to understand that Parker just isn't liked by the NXT audience, as his character is completely ridiculous and obnoxious. I am not saying they should pull a double turn with Parker and Breeze, but they had to realize Parker was going to get booed when he beat Breeze. The match was exceptional and I was fine with Parker going over after losing to Breeze twice before, but here's hoping this is the end of the road of this rivalry and both competitors can move onto bigger and better things.
Nothing on this show was truly terrible, but the lack of star power and excitement in terms of action and entertainment made this edition of NXT nothing noteworthy. There was some furthering of feud, which was nice, but everything else was merely forgettable. If nothing else, it was a quick hour of television this week and managed to fly by.
