Wolfgang def. Flash Morgan Webster
I can't remember Wolfgang winning too many matches on his own since joining Gallus (he's usually the one taking the fall for his team), so this was a necessary victory for him. As an underdog, Webster can absorb the loss, so the outcome was the right one. It was a well-wrestled opener with both guys having good showings. I was glad Webster was made to look credible in defeat by scoring as much offense as he did over Wolfgang before eating defeat.
Amir Jordan and Kenny Williams def. Braxton Huxley and Tyson T-Bone
Both of these teams have been on the rise in NXT UK's tag team division lately and clearly have their sights set on challenging for the NXT UK Tag Team Championship. There wasn't much of a storyline reason behind this bout, but it was fun while it lasted and had a nice pace. Jordan and Williams started out as the stepping stones of the division but are now beginning to build real momentum, so I could certainly see them vying for the twin titles before long.
Mark Andrews Attacked Noam Dar
Dar officially announced that he has signed with NXT UK, and to be honest, I'm surprised that didn't happen a long time ago. He has barely been featured on 205 Live over the last year and a half and is a much better fit for the NXT UK brand. He came across like a total heel here and I'm all for him feuding with Andrews right off the bat. I'm sure those two can have some killer matches.
Kay Lee Ray def. Candy Floss
Ray debuted in the crowd at TakeOver: Blackpool, but fans should remember her from her work in the first Mae Young Classic in the summer of 2017. She's insanely talented and can be a real player for NXT UK. This went exactly as it should have with Ray hitting her signature spots and winning quickly and easily. It was smart to keep this short and sweet while establishing Ray as a dominant force.
WWE United Kingdom Champion Pete Dunne and WALTER def. The Coffey Brothers
Not only have Dunne and WALTER had issues with The Coffey Brothers, they have been teasing tension with each other ever since WALTER arrived in NXT UK earlier this year and subtly made it known that he wanted the WWE United Kingdom Championship. They remained a cohesive unit throughout this bout, despite there being signs of dissension down the stretch. It was an excellent main event on the whole and I thoroughly enjoyed all the exciting action. As I've said before, that inevitable outing between Dunne and WALTER should be a barn burner.
In addition to everything above, there was also an "exclusive" from Kassius Ohno, who made it known that he was NXT UK bound. He recently bid farewell to NXT, so the move makes sense. So, between Ohno, Dar and now Ray, the brand is receiving quite the influx of new talent and all of them can be difference makers I believe. As for this edition of NXT UK, it was a newsworthy night with Kay debuting and Dar returning. The rest of the episode was entertaining as well and the main event in particular was strong.
