Sin Cara def. Curtis Axel
First and foremost, Cara's new entrance music is absolutely awful. I guess it's a good thing he has finally moved away from the Lucha Dragons song, but he had a theme prior to that team, so why not use that? Also, I don't know if it was just me or not, but I felt like it was 2011 or 2012 while watching this match because that was the last time either one of these two were relevant. It was a decent enough match, but I (along with a majority of the fans) couldn't care less about Cara or Axel at the moment.
Jack Swagger def. Bo Dallas
Whether he's in The Social Outcasts or on his own, Dallas is an extremely entertaining character, and it continues to blow my mind that WWE isn't doing more with him at the moment. Meanwhile, Swagger has been damaged goods for years, so it doesn't surprise me quite as much that he hasn't benefited from the Brand Extension at all. This was a slightly refreshing change of pace with Dallas avoiding Swagger's offense for a majority of the match, but otherwise, there was hardly anything extraordinary about it.
Well, Superstars continues to be the most meaningless program in WWE, even more so than Main Event, so not much has changed since the Brand Extension despite my minimal amount of optimism. Neither bout was bad on this show, but they were largely forgettable and had no SummerSlam implications. Instead, I would recommend checking out the rest of the awesome content WWE has up on the Network this week.
