Adam Rose def. Titus O'Neil
It's gotten to the point where Rose has become a Superstars regular like O'Neil, so things haven't been looking good in terms of a push for Rose. Regardless, he makes any match he's involved in entertaining with his mannerisms and this bout was no different. There was no real wrestling, of course, but it was a comedy contest that the live crowd seemed to be amused by. It's a shame Rose hasn't been able to truly show what's he's capable of in the ring yet, but hopefully he will at some point.
Curtis Axel def. Tyson Kidd
It's been many months since Kidd last competed in a match on the main roster and I'm glad he was able to compete in Canada of all places given that it's his home turf. He and Axel have had a history of having great matches together and it was refreshing for this match to receive as much as it did. They worked a very good match and both had strong showings. The live crowd was invested in the action and desperately wanted to see Kidd win. It's a shame he didn't, but Rybaxel is on TV far more often than he is, so I understood the decision to have Axel go over. On a side note, did anyone else find it odd that Kidd wrestled as a face despite working as a heel down in NXT?
Very rarely will I suggest to anyone to watch Superstars and while I wouldn't call this a must-see episode, it was better than most editions and an enjoyable hour of wrestling for what it was. Not taking the Raw recaps into account, Rose vs. O'Neil was fun and Axel vs. Kidd was a solid matchup. The hot Canadian crowd was also a leading factor in making this an entertaining episode.
