Divas Champion Paige def. Cameron (Non-title)
I hadn't heard that Cameron challenged Paige on the Payback fallout show from Sunday night, but it was very cool to see a Superstars match have an actual background to it for once. Cameron annoys me to no end and I hope this was WWE's way of turning her heel. She seems to fit that role better than as a fan favorite. Now all she needs to do is ditch the Funkadactyls entrance theme and Naomi and start using her "Bye Bye" song. She'd get heat instantly! In all seriousness, the match was decent enough and the crowd was heavily behind Paige. Cameron held her own and Paige carried her to a fine outing. I don't know if Cameron will be the next challenger to the Divas Championship (aka the flavor of the month), but it's nice to see that they're telling a story with her loss and apparent slow burning heel turn.
Big E def. Titus O'Neil
Have interviews before the "main event" matches always been the norm on Superstars? Either way, O'Neil's pre-match promo was very good as it showcased his exceptional speaking abilities and it made his match with Big E feel more important. It feels like they've had a million matches together in the last few months, but this was definitely their best yet. The crowd was invested in the action and they delivered a very physical, hard-hitting match. This might have been their longest bout to date and they certainly made the most of it. Big E is higher on the card so I had no problem with him winning yet again, but it was cool to see a rivalry actually develop on Superstars, something you rarely ever see.
It isn't often that I recommend someone check out an episode of Superstars, but I'd certainly suggest watching this week's edition. It may not have been must-see compared to Raw or SmackDown, but by Superstars standards, it was a great show. If you skip the Raw recaps, you're in for two good, enjoyable matches that had a story behind them (something fairly rare on this show). If you watch the show in its entirety, the Raw recaps aren't that bad, especially considering one of them is of Seth Rollins' heel turn from Monday's Raw. And, honestly, who wouldn't want to relive that shockingly awesome moment again?
