WWE Universal Champion Kevin Owens Addressed GoldbergWow, where the hell has this Owens been this whole time? Don't get me wrong, Owens can be such a riot when with Chris Jericho or even on his own, but as a world champion, he should have undergone this transformation long ago. The suit-wearing, slow-speaking Owens is absolute money. It's a shame it came so late in his title run, but better late than never. I also loved how he left fans hanging with his comments (or lack thereof) on Jericho. There's no need to rush into that assuming they face off at WrestleMania. Enzo Amore and Big Cass def. Cesaroa and Sheamus in a Raw Tag Team Championship No. 1 Contender's MatchEnzo and Cass have fallen far since they initially arrived on Raw last year, largely because of the terrible feud they had with Rusev and the awful lines they're forced to recite every week. Maybe they coming up with their own material, and if that's the case, they're to blame. Either way, they're fresh faces in the title picture, so although Cesaro and Sheamus can have a better match with The Club, it's a match we've seen several times now. While I had no problem with Enzo and Cass going over here, they desperately need some sort of overhaul.

John Cena Called Out BatistaAll it took was an inadvertent punch to jump-start one of the most anticipated rivalries of the modern era in WWE. Who knew? Seriously, that was lame. I understand why they did it, but it felt forced to transition from Cena's loss to JBL at The Great American Bash to this. I know they would bring up their meteoric rises later on, but why not mention that here to add to their already brewing bad blood? This segment set up the night's main event as well as gave viewers a hook in regards to who the new general manager would be. Santino Marella and Beth Phoenix def. D'Lo Brown and Kelly KellyWell, it didn't take long to establish Brown as just another undercard talent. It was great to see him back beating Marella the week prior, but in losing here in throwaway fashion, it was evident he wasn't re-signed for anything major. That said, Marella and Phoenix were a fun pairing as Glamarella. They didn't start calling themselves that in this match, but the seeds were planted for them to become a cohesive unit before long.
World Heavyweight Champion CM Punk Granted Batista a Title ShotBatista almost came across as a heel when he put himself in charge of Raw for the night and awarded himself a rematch for the World Heavyweight Championship, even though his logic was sound considering Kane interfered in his Great American Bash bout with Punk. Meanwhile, JBL's heel work was exceptional and Punk actually got lost in the shuffle as a result, which was a common theme throughout his reign as world champion. There was a bit too much talking here for my liking, but at least the main event was set up in effective fashion. Lance Cade def. Paul LondonCade benefited from solely associating himself with Chris Jericho at the height of his heel run, but he didn't do much to stand out on his own until now when he went one-on-one with London. The match was fairly forgettable, but Cade had a solid showing and scored the win as he should have. Moreover, Jericho's post-match promo was phenomenal, and the greatest part about Jericho's heel mic work was that he didn't have to raise his voice in order to convey feelings of hatred toward the fans and Shawn Michaels. Sensational stuff.
Ryback def. Primo and Epico in a 2-on-1 Handicap MatchBefore finally finding direction in late 2012 in his feud with then-WWE Champion CM Punk, Ryback was constantly competing against two athletes at a time, so this was a nice throwback to that. Primo and Epico were (and still are) a nothing tag team, so them losing as decisively as they did here didn't do any more than damage than what was already done. Ryback looked dominant heading into his match with Mark Henry at WrestleMania 29, where he would lose for some strange reason. Team Rhodes Scholars and The Bella twins Mocked Tons of FunkI can virtually guarantee you this segment was written by Vince McMahon. Thankfully, they made the most of it by putting their own twist on it, so it was somewhat enjoyable. Tons of Funk got the last laugh by coming out and forcing them to flee, but it was almost sad watching this back knowing their mixed tag team match was ultimately scrapped from the WrestleMania card. Not that it was going to be an in-ring classic or anything, but they didn't deserve that.
